With more than 20 years of entrepreneurship, investment and leadership experience, Melissa Bradley has been named a Professor of Practice at the McDonough School of Business. She will serve as the Global Social Enterprise Initiative lead on impact investing, and will also teach courses in impact investing, social entrepreneurship, P2P economies and innovation. As faculty advisor for the Social Venture Lab, Bradley oversees experiential learning opportunities for students across the entire university.
Previously, Bradley, also a Georgetown alumna, served as an inaugural GSEI Executive-in-Residence during her tenure as CEO of Tides, a nonprofit organization that actively promotes change toward a healthy society founded on social justice, shared economic opportunity, robust democratic processes, and sustainable environmental practices.
“Melissa brings invaluable practical expertise and academic rigor to our undergraduate and graduate students, as well as to GSEI and our partners,” said Ladan Manteghi, GSEI’s Executive Director. “Most people still don’t know or understand what impact investing is or how it works. Melissa’s rooting in finance, mission, and evaluating social and financial return helps provide a lens in how to distill what it’s about, and how it works.”
